Mario Pečarić is a full professor at the Departments of Finance at the Faculty of Economics in Split and Rijeka, Croatia. His academic work deals with financial topics (international finance, monetary economics and European integration), mostly from the perspective of institutional economics and development finance. As a result of his academic and professional work, he has co-authored and edited several academic books and about 80 academic papers. He was and is involved in the realisation of several academic and professional projects. He is currently head of the scientific research project: Interrelation between financial integration, sectoral divergence and real convergence – In search of a sustainable model and policy for EU transition countries (ZIP- UNIRI- 2023-6) and a member of the project team of the international EU project Leaders of green economy. On several occasions he has specialised abroad in the field of institutional economics and finance, namely: USIA-USA (1990); Tempus – Bologna (1992); Universite de Poitiers – France (1995); Alpe-Adria – Udine (1995); University of Kentucky (1997), etc. He has taught doctoral studies in Split, Rijeka, Mostar and within the joint study programme for public administration (Rijeka and Ljubljana). Under his supervision, seven doctoral theses in the field of finance have been successfully defended and he is the mentor of several post-doctoral students.
